Feel free to PM with questions related to writing or any moderation issues in Medieval Fantasy PM RP. Please don't bother me with anything else. I promise to do the same in return.

Action, adventure, intrigue, conflict, and warfare scenarios in Fantasy / High Fantasy / Historical genres only. Para to novella styles are greatly preferred, though all I ask is that you make an effort. Unfortunately, this seems to disqualify about 90% of this website.

I have no interest whatsoever in smut, ERP, romance or slice-of-life plots. Tavern RP is rare, but I always find it strange how supposed kings/queens/princesses/gods have nothing better to do than hang around a bar. Nuance and Narrative are highly valued. I prefer dynamic scenes and couldn't be less engaged with standing around and being nice to one another. I do not PM RP. At all. I  prefer the audience and the interaction that public posting brings.

Omniscient, omnipotent, Millenias old 20-in-every-stat Mary Sues with unlimited resources and ill-defined abilities, don't bother. there's few things more cringeworthy than Trying to swoop in and Solve every problem with the wave of a hand. The beauty is in the Struggle, and an easily won battle is meaningless. Your character does not have to be the center of everything to be worthwhile and to shoehorn them into every scenario is cheap. Canon characters of any type are a hard "NO". They are a cop-out and never played correctly. Anime-type characters are extremely difficult (but not impossible) for me to take seriously. They don't fit in well with a grimdark aesthetic.

Writer is US Eastern Time (EST) Based. The writer is Male and ≠ Character and has been roleplaying on and off since the days of IRC. There's an individual on this site spreading false rumors about me being homophobic due to them being salty at an In-character post I made lampooning their low-effort posting. If you choose to believe this mentally ill idiot, that's on you. I am only bigoted towards shitty writers.

Hugo's voice and face claim is 1980's Arnold Schwarzeneggar. Seriously. He has a HEAVY German accent but I refuse to write this out phonetically as i find it obnoxious to read. The Art is mine, don't steal. In fact, don't rip off my character either. Many have tried.

Sir Hugo is a man of his times. He is of staunch Lawful Alignment, though whether good or evil is up to the reader's interpretation. He is also an arrogant chauvinist, racist (against non-Humans), classist, xenophobic murderer when judged by today's "woke" standards.  He has little regard for those whom he perceives as weak, or the underclass.  Traditionally evil races/occupations are bound to be looked upon very poorly.

There was an exiled knight named Sir Hugo
Who refused charity due to his huge ego
But with no coins to his name,
How could he his home reclaim
And right the injustices suffered years ago - Minstrel

"There is glory in this life, mayhaps.. but little honor."

"Sir Hugo the Homeless" is the fourth-born son of a petty Northern lord. House Schwarzburg had served with distinction as trusted bannermen in their ancestral seat of Blackcastle to House Falgon, the Lords Paramount of the West in Ardyn for countless generations, and though rich in honor was poor in coin. As a boy, he trained as both a squire and a page to his father’s liege Lord before earning his spurs at the age of seventeen for the first of many acts of heroism, saving his mentor's life on the battlefield. Low in the line of succession for his father's Barony, he devoted much time to participating in the lists of the grand tourneys, showing great promise in both the joust and melee.

This all changed when his liege Lord Falgon threw in his lot with a pretender to the throne, challenging the rule of Kaiser Karl Gustav XI, the reigning monarch, a weak-willed, weak-minded and wicked man, in favor of his bastard brother Edgard of Alberton, a far more capable ruler who simply lacked the "proper" pedigree of his legitimate sibling. After several years of pitched battles, the rebels were finally routed and their forces handily defeated with the help of foreign auxiliaries in the Battle of Lockshire, a bloodbath in which Hugo would have surely perished as well had he not been left to defend Blackcastle in the absence of his kinsmen. The ancient line was all but extinguished that day as his father Baron Heinrich, three elder brothers, uncles, and cousins perished to a man on the field that day.

In the aftermath of the failed rebellion, House Schwarzburg was marked as a traitor to the throne, and its lands, incomes, and even the fortress Blackcastle were seized, distributed among the Loyalist houses. His sister was forcibly married off to supporters of the King, as was young Hugo's own betrothed. As the sole male survivor of the house, he was marked an outlaw and fled the country on horseback in the night, carrying only his arms and armor. Relatively safe outside the borders, he can only return home under the pain of death. Still, he dreams of one day retaking Blackcastle.

As a noble in exile with no inheritance or connections and few prospects, he took to fighting with the free companies of the east and became hired blade, a man as hard as the steel that he wore. The castle training of an anointed knight was highly valued, and he excelled in many a hard-fought campaign. Without land, title, or income, he has little choice but to sell his sword. He wanders the land as an errant knight - killing bandits, and monsters, guarding merchant caravans, rescuing maidens, and fighting in the occasional tourney, yet time and time again he finds himself on a foreign field fighting for coin rather than cause.

Though he has been reduced to selling his sword, he still maintains a strict code of honor. He lives the code of chivalry as much as his circumstances will allow, and will aid those he deems worthy with little regard for reward. His impoverished, exile status makes him a pariah among the nobility, yet a privileged upbringing often alienates him from the common folk. Foreign hedge-knights are not often trusted by anyone so he tends to move from place to place, hence the sobriquet "Sir Hugo the Homeless", a once-hated nickname he has come to embrace. In an act of supreme hubris, he donned the cuirass of a defeated Death Knight with disastrous results. Now possessed of a suit of cursed, wicked armor, Sir Hugo now fights the most desperate battle of his life, the war for his very soul...

Cuirass of the Blood Prince: taken as trophy from the defeated undead King Aldwen beneath Brokenstone Keep. In the dark it glows slightly green, while in the light the steel bears an iridescent sheen of the same shade. The armor increases his strength, speed, endurance and reaction times far beyond that of a mere human, but as a side effect has begun to influence his already warlike behavior towards rage, extreme violence and brutality. the damned soul of the wraith that inhabits it speaks to and compels him, effectively nullifying any outside attempts of mind control or mental tampering. Though heavy in weight, the wearer feels no enumbrance. The cursed armor has bonded with him, and at this point, removal for any significant length of time is impossible.

Suit of master forged full gothic plate armor: his reward for serving Princess Andromeda as a sworn shield. Lighter armor on the legs allows for more mobility while on foot. His rarely worn sallet helm is stylized in the image of a skull, topped with a sharp spike, worn over a chainmail coif. The armor has been tinted through alchemical means to match the darkened hue of his breastplate, and inlaid throughout with ornate designs.

A magnificent cloak of cloth-of-gold: a boon granted by the Witch-Queen of Neyuwyth for loyal service to the crown. This is sometimes changed out for a cloak of furs or dark green roughspun with his house's sigl stitched onto the back

Gold signet ring with his house's symbol in emerald and onyx, his sole trapping of wealth. Proof of his noble origins and used as a seal for official correspondance

"Freundlichkeit" (Kindness) 2-Handed 6' steel greatsword with a leather-wrapped hilt and heavy round brass pommel, holding a concealed dirk, the heirloom sword of House Schwarzburg, inherited from his father and kept sheathed on his back. Stamped with ancient runes whose significance has long been forgotten, it is of masterwork quality, and has been passed down through the family for countless generations. Perhaps his most precious possession, it is all that remains of his family's legacy.

"Windsong" 3' silver scimitar, taken as a trophy of war in Tahan, worn sheathed at his right side. Its hilt is decorated with sparkling rubies. Commonly used against supernatural foes.

"Foecrusher" Morningstar with a spiked ball at the end of a hollow haft with a chain concealed within, worn at his left side.

Swordbreaker main gauche, worn at the small of his back in a sheath.

"Gnade" (Mercy) 16" poignard dagger hidden in his right grieve. Used to poke through openings in heavy armor or as a last resort weapon

War Lance and heraldric heater shield in Schwarzburg colors (carried only when ahorse)

A faded golden ribbon intertwined with the left arm of his armor, given to him as a token of favor by the Princess Andromeda, the only woman he ever loved

"Butterblume" 19 Hand black Friesian Warhorse , bred and trained for battle with full plate barding, ridden in battle.

"Edelweiss", 14 hand white palfrey, ridden in times of peace.
