She views herself as still human, but tries not to think about it much. She has memories of both parties, but the human thoughts are more dominant.
At first, Melody always seemed much like any other typical girl. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and dressing up. Everywhere she went, her beloved companion, Wigglytuff, would follow. The two would often get into trouble due to nosing around in places that girls and their Pokémon certainly didn't belong. Worst of all, she had a bad habit of establishing unwanted interest in others. When Melody got older, she traveled to the cape in Cerulean to meet Bill and see his Pokémon collection. He wasn't home, but his door was unlocked. Having little respect for other’s privacy, and of course, a little too hormonal and insane about her crush, she foolishly stepped in and entered the teleporter, along with her Wigglytuff, and then even more foolishly pressed the button, not knowing what it did. Within a few minutes, Melody realized she felt rather strange. For some reason, she felt like singing. Stepping in front of a mirror, she realized what happened. She and her Wigglytuff had melded into a single being! As if they weren't inseparable enough, now it had become literal!
Now a Gijinka, Melody fled from her former home of Kanto’s Pewter City, only to end up in the Kalos region later on, learning French with relative ease. Making a fair amount of money through tutoring, working at an upscale hotel and baking, the young woman seems more than capable of taking care of herself. This often leads to her trying to make friends through material gain, which may make her come off as being overbearing. As for being a gijinka? She tries to keep that a secret, though her voice has a strange and unmistakable quality to it if she is ever heard singing.
Growing older, she hardly seems to have learned her lesson, not being one to think things through before she does them. Once she starts her course of action, it’s often too late to turn back. Aside from an insatiable appetite for sugar and entertainment, she's very outgoing, though her almost excessive amount of energy can get a little irritating, and unfortunately for her company, she is still as nosy as ever. Endlessly curious and rather friendly towards any who shows no hostility towards her, she'll often share some of her favorite sweets with them, whether they want them or not.
However, beneath her sweet and playful nature lies a hidden darkness that very few learn of. She’s quite tired of being alone so often, and once someone offers up their company, especially if it may lead to romance, she will do anything she can to keep it... Anything.
