Yorukaze is best described as level headed, rarely will she ever lose her cool in any situation. Taunts and provoking don't go over her head, but rather she ignores them and focuses only on her goal.
Yorukaze can be very protective, perhaps even sometimes overprotective for those she cares for. She would risk limb and life to protect them, not minding what or who they are.
Yorukaze is a very observant person both in battle and out. Often she can pick the little things out, figuratively and literally, be it a pattern in a fight or a tiny object on the ground.
Yorukaze was born in the land of the Samurai, Wano, during the time of Kaido's reign. With the SMILE fruits spreading around, the young girl couldn't say she was lucky. Since that day, it was hard to say what her true emotions were since they were always hidden behind a smile, the mask that she could never take off, as people describe it. The poor girl was ready to end it all, with no one to love her she would drink from the poisonous waters... An old man found her suffering to death, he would tend to her, helping her back to health. There was a light to come from it, while she suffered for sometime after, it was this that made her stronger.
Her will to live was what got her through it, along with the assistance of her master. Once the poor child had finally recovered, she knew there was no way she could repay her debt to the old man... Instead, she had chosen to serve as his pupil, learning the way of the sword. Many years it remained the two until finally, he took in another young child, someone Yorukaze would constantly bump heads with.
As the three grew older, finally the girl had taken on a form of respect for the younger child, even seeing him as a younger brother. The two would constantly see each other as rivals though, constantly dueling one another as a way to show off their progress. For a while, Yorukaze was the constant winner, her prowess with the sword was on a different level... Until finally, the boy grew older and stronger, their bouts becoming evenly matched fights in the end.
Finally an adult, the ever-smiling girl would leave her home and family to seek out her dream. Without the need to express negative emotions anyway, the woman was quite happy with never showing a negative emotion anyway. Still, there is a side of her that wishes to find a cure for the effects of the SMILE fruits passed around when she was a child. During her journey's, she'd often visit different doctors around the world, allowing them to take tests to remove the effects of the fruit.
Over the years of her travels, Sato sought to further her swordsmanship and cooking, finding herself in East Blue. There would be a nice restaurant called Baratie, she would train here under Zeff for months. She only desired to further her knowledge, working for free just to learn recipes from the owner. Coming near the end of her stay, she would meet a Cowboy and a Monk, the two having just begun their journey.
They would offer the woman a place on their crew, accepting as it meant she could explore the seas with friends. But the two were broke since her role would fit well enough already, she would work off their bill. During that time, a couple of rude men would enter the Resturant, causing trouble practically upon arriving. They would insult Sato's SMILE and her Captain would instantly begin fighting the man that would. Since there was more than one, Sato would join the fight.
The fight was intense enough that everyone would come out of the battle injured, some more than others. Gyro a blade in his side while Sato practically took the brunt of all her attacks throughout the fight at once. While she came out injured, she came out victorious, the crew she had been staying with saving her life. With the right help, she was able to get up on her feet quickly, using the travel to the next island to rest her body. The crew would make one stop before they would venture onto the Grand Line, an island with a town known as Loguetown.
Hailing from Wano, she has beyond average training with a sword, her style focusing on single sword style. However, she does possess knowledge of two-sword style as well.
Yorukaze possesses an advanced form of Busoshoku Haki, allowing her to harden her entire body haki, as well as emitting haki a short distance away without a medium.
Kenbunshoku Haki soon came naturally to her after discovering its existence, her already uncanny eyesight. While hardly considered a master, she does possess the ability to sense the presence of others and greatly aiding her reflexes to dodge attacks such as bullets.
Yorukaze suffers from the effects of the SMILE fruits distributed by Orochi and Kaido many years ago. With this, she cannot display any negative emotions as little as frowning to as extreme as crying. This also means she suffers from the negative effects of a Devil Fruit, despite being among those that didn't gain any ability from the fruit.
With many years of training, Yorukaze often can cut down many who challenge her if they lacked the ability... That said she doesn't like ending a fight quickly, often saving her best attacks for those who could survive them, and
Aelfric Foro - While not true siblings, Yorukaze sees him as her younger brother. While he is the younger of the two, they are considered equals. This boy is about the only person in her life who she would do anything for and risk everything for.
Gyro Giordano - One of the only people to compliment her smile and offer one with just as sad of an origin, still trying to make the best of it. Her Captain as well, after meeting him and fighting with the man after someone had insulted her SMILE, she had begun to admire him more since. She would give her life for this man, already believing that he could become the next Pirate King if he'd ever care to carry the title.
Zetta Vossler - The First Mate of her crew, despite her constant flirting and advances the woman is actually quite nice. She is a powerful fighter both with and without a weapon, never would she want to wind up on the woman's bad side. Overall, she is a great friend and she would fight for her if she ever asked for help.
