Tobias Schallenmeuller was born to a rich German family involved in underground smuggling rings. They were caught when he was young of age, and was deemed unworthy to raise a child. Tobias was instead, taken to a foster home where he would soon be adopted by an German-Australian family, the Kriegers. Eventually they would move to Australia where Tobias lived out his early years.

At the age of eighteen, Tobias joined the military. What spurred him on was unknown, but he climbed through the ranks and racked up skills and knowledge that propelled him to a special service. As an agent of this service, Tobias further learned more tricks and skills such and specializing in Krav Maga, Muay Thai, and Karate. He was also subject to various experiments, and now has enchanced abilities as well as the ability to manipulate smoke. A side effect also followed: addiction to tobacco.

Later on, he fell in love with an English teacher while working in Japan. They married, but Tobias's hardened attitude and nearly cold disposition lead to an unsatisfying marriage. Of course, out of respect, Tobias signed divorce papers. It wasn't until a year after that he heard from her again. A case of drunk driving truck driver took her life along with few family in their car.

Tobias mourned, and eventually asked to be let go from the service. With his skills, he was overqualified to be a teacher, but that was what he wanted. At first it was simply to honor his ex-wife, but now found himself enjoying the easier lifestyle.
