Confinement. It was so easy to take life for granted when it seemed to have no dangers. Such was life for a goddess of the sea; she who lived in comfortable solitude near the shores of a warm country, soaking up every moment of uninterrupted bliss. Days were endless and the nights on the shimmering waves were just as relaxing. Peace was everlasting here in a bubble beneath the sun, but it had been twenty seven days since those emerald eyes had beheld the open skies. Entrapment had happened so suddenly that even now, almost a month later, it was still unreasonably cloudy how she had been snatched from the clear ocean.

For several weeks, she laid cramped in a small tank meant for a creature not as long an elegant. At almost eight feet long, the rarity of legend could barely swim around, forcing the mermaid to fold in her golden tail and depressingly sink to the bottom. The sun did not shine on her in this place - the water was unfiltered and there was hardly any fresh air, and the water around her had become stale quickly. Changing out the tank had consisted of draining it and harshly dumping new salt water over the feminine shape, until a voice from the darkness demanded she be handled more carefully.

The trophy, as she was referred to, had been sold to the highest bidder. Thus began another journey, one that was made up largely of sloshing around during transport in a drug induced haze. Humans had been foretold to be unkind and selfish, and this cruelty was proving an old stereotype. It could have been days but in reality it had only been hours, but the sound of nails snapping free pulled her conscious forward... Not sickly but surely weak, the mermaid thought twice of trying to leap out of the box when they removed the lid.

It was wise, for they hardly gave those blinking green eyes a moment to adjust to the light before the crate to tipped harshly to the left. Her body tumbled out like stones from a jar; splashing loudly into the water of the newer tank and sinking slowly into it's depth. This water was alive with freshly moving bubbles; oxygen at the ready, filling her lungs up with courage to open her eyes against the dim lighting around her. There was a rock formation behind her, solid against her back as she slid down and extended her tail. There was enough room to stretch out and it graced her features with pleasure - short lived as the environment became clear. Another tank, far away from home.

The glass was curved and distorted her view. As his new pet blinked her eyes back to clarity, her new Master had a chance to really take in the creature. Her long and magnificent tail made her total height up to be almost eight feet, with her shapely hips being the crest of her glittering golden orange scales. The subtle shape of her womanhood laid exposed at the front of her tail, nearest the top where a torso of tanned flesh rose. Handful shaped breasts were warmly pink around the nipples, which perked at the change of temperature in the water.

Long flowing dark hair laid out inky ribbons around her round face. Aside from a gleam of exhaustion, the mermaid appeared to be in good health... nearly glowing beneath the lights above the tank. The sounds of the mortal delivery men leaving were washed out by the new soundtrack of the custom tank. Slowly pushing up off her rear and cutting her arms through the water, she glided towards the side of the tank where the shape of a man lingered. It was a human-like husk but that was the only similarity. For now, his exotic prize gawked back his smirk. Nothing about his expression spoke well of her future...

character type

Cordelia is a very kind and curious soul by nature. She is inquisitive and bright, if not sometimes nosy. Typically of good spirit, she is a mermaid without malice setting her kind apart from sirens. Often times she is found alone and without a pod, having either been abandoned or wandered off on her own.

Cordelia, when presented in a Medieval world, may not speak the common tongue. She may not appear out of water often. Her manners would develop over time, unlike her Modern pre-set who is well established on land and blending in with the human race. Its important to note that cordelia does not eat her own kind (fish) and rather eat vegetation.

Cordelia is ripe for child baring and romantic stories. I do not condone trying to maim her severely in any way, but I do favor a storyline where she is confined in some sort of pet-situation or museum piece. I enjoy characters such as pirates, sailors, scientists, explorers/adventurers… for Modern settings, Cordelia is a pre-school teacher and we can discuss the elements surrounding that.

character notes

Running off the sample above, this idea involves Cordelia either owned/trapped by your character or freed from a situation like it. Black Market/Livestock market bidding, vampire looking a for pureblood feeding source or a collector. she would be disoritented and perhaps combative depending on our approach. this idea does not permit extreme acts of violence or cruealty including rape, wounding, vore or otherwise serious maiming. do not kill her.
exposed ⚓️ mod ⚓️ m/f
In a modern world, Cordelia is a pre-school teacher happily living her life with her secret watery past. This idea involves your character discovering that she is a mermaid (brainstorm on how: accident, spying, work outing gone wrong, etc.) and the aftermath. Fun, lighthearted, slice of life. Romance sought.
lost at sea ⚓️ med/mod ⚓️ m/f
Found injuried on the beach, a naked woman is taken inland for help. She wakes with no memory and seems unable to speak the common tongue, confused by the concerned faces trying to nurse her back to health. Who is she, where did she come from? This idea involves your character tasked with a woman with no memory or words, only gestured and mimicked sounds. A trip to the beach one daywill prove to be a fateful turn of events....
