ICEWOLF'S PROFILE

MUSE LIST
WRITER INFO

Greetings! I began role-playing while at uni, playing Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, and Wizward of the Coast's version of the Star Wars roleplaying game. After graduating, I missed it and decided to play online. I am mainly interested in the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings fandom. I have been rping on twitter for about a couple of years and recently found this site, where I hope to meet other like-minded players. I prefer to be an indepenant rper, rather than one tied to a specific forum or 'group' because it gives me more freedom in what I rp.

In addition to rp, I am also a fan fiction writer, mainly in the Star Wars and Tolkien fandoms, and I've also been a part of the fanlisting community. I write both canon and original characters, with ocs being my first love.

I am pretty much happy to rp with anyone who is friendly, writes well, keeps the rp going and whose character I feel I can easily fit into a storyline.

GUIDELINES

When it comes to role-play partners, I prefer literate partners who are descriptive and are mature in their conduct. (That doesn't mean 'mature' content - I've had problems with god-moders, cliquey people and people who mix up real life social/political issues in their rp that makes rping with them uncomfortable.) I also do not do parody rp where the goal is to wind people up and cause arguments with them.

When it comes to shipping characters, I normally self-ship because I've problems with people causing drama over them in the past. I may be willing to ship a character if I've built up trust with someone, know that they stay active, don't disappear without telling me and won't suddenly drop a ship without letting me know there is a problem.

I also prefer it if people I rp with disclose all their character profiles to me that they control which I rp with - the reason for this is that I once rped with someone who decieved an entire group of people by pretending that characters they controlled were written by different people and used it to god-mod one of my characters pretty badly. Clearity is important, folks!

One final thing: I don't like playing with over-powered, god-like characters unless it is sensible, because writers sometimes use this as an excuse to legitimise god-moding.

Violence:

I will fight NPCs, but I don’t like writing such things against playable characters, unless it has been agreed before the sl starts that it is alright. In other words, it will take some planning. I am open to it, but it’s something which needs to be worked out before hand. I think that it’s worth mentioning here that there are some kinds of violence which I won’t do, e.g. rape and domestic violence. I don’t know why people would consider those fun, but I will only do scenarios involving violence which is combat related, bar fights, hunting, etc, in other words, the general combat scenarios you’ll find in games like Runescape and D20 table-top games.

Smut:

I don’t like writing smut in rp. I’m not at all comfortable with it for many reasons, but it's mainly because you can never be sure that the person you're rping with is not a minor. Romance without smut is fine, but anything which would require 18+ tag, or more, is out.

Regarding LGBTQ Characters:

I do not mind rping with these characters, but I am not intrested in romance sls with them. I have a preference for adventure rp over romance rps in general, so it's not something which should come up, but there are many rpers who think that romance or 'smut' is all what rp is about.

Suicide/Mental Illness Scenarios:

I have great difficulty with these story lines because of my own personal experiences with being a carer for someone with these issues and I have a few problems regarding it myself. I don’t want to rp sls which are heavily descriptive in this regard.

Fandoms I'm not interested in:

I'm not really a fan of anime/manga, Pokemon, Dr Who, Anita Blake, Vampire Diaries, Twilight or True Blood (despite the fact that I like urban fantasy) so I will not rp with characters from these fandoms. There are other fandoms I like but I don't know enough about it to rp in, so I've only listed the ones I can do.

One final thing to mention: I have noticed, even in the short time that I've been on this site that there seems to be quite a number of trolls. I don't tolerate rudeness after my experiences on twitter and will quietly block people who start trouble. I'll also be disinclined to rp with people if I don't like what I see on their profile. Be fair to folks, and make this a fun place to be.
