Tissue Hime is an amazing bass player who plays your typical ニコ動 (Nico Nico) selections, from ハルヒ (Haruhi) stuff to 初音ミク (Miku Hatsune) songs. Tissue Hime has gotten pretty big recently, from playing bass for a commercial to being in a video for メルト (Melt) with slick production values. The Princess of Tissue has also become apart of 王族BAND (Ouzoku BAND), with Kaizoku Ou and guest Vocals. The drummer Ouji (Not Handkerchief) left, but did so on good terms.

But, even more than the music, there is one nagging question everyone asks, from ２ちゃん (2 chan) to Yahoo! Answers…

Is Tissue Hime a guy or a girl?

The official answer is 「姫」 (”Princess”) apparently. A good majority of the net is on the side of thinking it is a dude, but there is a small core of firm believers who say that Tissue Hime is a chick. The one side will say “look at his hands!” and the other will say “look at her thighs!”

Some just stay out of it, as to them it doesn’t matter either way. The mystery is part of the fun.

However, Tissue Hime has given an official answer on Nico Nico Douga and ended the mystery. During one of the many uploads they have done, Tissue Hime had admitted to being a male. Even after this people are still fooled and say otherwise. More recently the bassist has broken their strong silence(through use of a voice changer) on the Nico Nico Live videos. The mask, however, remains. Which does its job at keeping the sense of mystery alive.
