Hati only knew her father growing up, a man of honor and pride. They lived in a quiet village next to a creek, but one day their peace was threatened by an increasing numbers of monsters. To defend his village, Hati's father, Joju, joined a local club of hunters. He became a local legend of sorts with his new career, taking up bounties along the way. With his skill in martial arts, and a low level of mana, he was able to defeat a great many monsters with skill and talent alone.
These monsters soon learned of the growing ranks of hunters, and began to formulate plans. On a particularly cloudy day Hati's father took his daughter out for one of their training sessions when they were ambushed. It began to thunder and storm, and the man defeated all but one of the intruders. Unfortunately, he was simply too tired to fight any further, and used himself as a shield so that Hati could escape. She watched her father as he was torn apart, but the monster seemed frightened, and left Hati there.
She spent the entire night covered in her own father's blood, and cowering from an unseen force. Eventually a man from a neighboring town came by and discovered Hati. He adopted her, but Hati had carried a fear of rainy days and an odd love for violence with her. She took to killing small animals, while forgetting her father.
Sneaking out for an excursion to kill, at the age of 11, Hati came across a pained wolf, seemingly called by it. The black lupine requested Hati turn her rage on those whom deserved it, explaining that the wolf, herself, was being consumed by something dark and would soon be a mindless monster. She sought Hati out to end her, and as it rained, Hati turned her knife on it.
She took joy in killing the wolf, but with its last breath, she saw the truth: it was her mother, whom had protected her from the monster before, explaining why it had not killed her. Before Hati could ask questions, the wolf had died and she found herself rid of her bloodlust - and with a renewed purpose.

Hati's blue eye comes from her father, and the gold, from her mother. Hati will sometimes shift, either fully or partially, into part wolf, but she only does so under rare circumstances, for she fears ending up like her mother, and hates being seen as an 'anomaly'.
Hati is now a hunter as well, utilizing her body as a weapon. She harbors a sadness for rainy days, but doesn't tell anyone why - not even Shizne.

Hati and Shiden have a close relationship, as she knew her since she they were children. After Hati's father was killed, she spent more time with Shiden. Hati finds Shiden's cute, but stoic personality a bit annoying, but treats her like a little sister. Hati is perhaps the most tender, outright, with Shiden than she is Shizne, but cares about them both the same. Hati, admittedly, gets jealous over Shiden's potential - as Hati's own is far less advanced.

Hati and Piadora are related in the fact that after death, Hati's mother was revealed to be a corrupted djinn, whom ended up passing her spirit to a drowning girl, later revealed to be Piadora's mother.
