The Stars Belong To Us

Pilot is of a simple race of arboreal elf like creatures found on a planet on the very fringes of the trade empire. Normally the race is blandly colored and stands at an average height of 5 '6".  At 24 Pilot, as that is what she calls herself, became physically attached to a living ship that refers to itself as Hel'ra. But, due to her exposure to the ship's thoughts, she has forgotten her current age, and much of her original personality. She is restrained to a command chair in the belly of the ship, encircled by a great bank of blinking control screens and glowing pads and buttons.

As her lower half is restrained by tungsten bars, she is given nutrition and hydration by various tubes and cords rising out of the chair and connected right into her internal organs by IVs, waste is removed in a similar way. She is connected to Hel'ra's nural net by a data plug directly inserted into her brain at the base of her skull. With the aid of a spinal connection of Vong technology, her nervous system is connected directly to Hel'ra through her chair, forcing hormones between the two of them to blend and pain to be felt by both. It is said that once integration with the system has been completed, removal could mean death. As no pilot has ever been removed from their ship, there is no real knowledge of what would occur. But be warned, all attempts to do so have been met with deadly force. Sicero ships are very protective of their pilots, and have no problems with removing the atmosphere from the interior or equalizing the pressure with the environment outside the ship. With the pilot being fully supported by the ship, they need no other means to survive, they have no problems taking such drastic measures to protect themselves.

Though the interior of the pilot's chamber pulses and beats like a living heart, there is a note of beauty in this place. The cords and cables conntecting her to the ship gather behind her reclining seat and flow upwards like the trunk of a great tree, spreading out at the roof of the living cavern like branches as they lead off further into the deapth of the ship. They refer to this apparatus as Aegling, and whether or not it is an addition to the ship or a natural growth, it is unclear. Pulsing with lights and beating a steady, comforting rhythm, it lends an almost ethereal nature to the woman in the purple gown bound to the console. If one looks in just the right way, she seems simply an elf once more, resting between the roots of a great and beloved tree.

"And I want but have not
Bad dreams, lust thoughts
In here with no pain, you hurt me again
And I want but have none
I should beat the alien
But here I'm no one, a Cosmic Castaway..."

Her long exposure to Hel'ra's systems have taken away her people's plain coloring and left her with oddly violet hair startling aqua eyes, and a truly ghastly appearance. She is of deathly pale skin as she has not been exposed to natural light in several years. Despite the chemical exposure and lack of light, her face is oddly ageless, and her strange pointed ears are always awaiting new information. With her being female and Hel'ra male, their thought processes have clashed leaving her virtually emotionless and highly capable of understanding the problems of both genders. They live essentially as one being, each thinking the other's thoughts and never truly alone.

Hel'ra is a simple transport ship, as his size dictates. He is a multi level ship, with pulse boosters for quick travel, and a subspace drive for quick escapes. Being a retired trade ship, he is equiped with all the comforts of home.

Though Hel'ra and Pilot love to transport and aid others, they tend to stay on the outer edges of the Trade Empire and shy away from planets and colonies unless forced. Unwilling to explain themselves, Pilot and Hel'ra prefer only to speak to each other, and refuse to speak of their past. Other than that, ask her anything., you can't offend her.

-The winding and confusing interior engines of a living ship

Hel'ra himself is a Pulse class Sicero, fully capable of deepspace and subspace travel. He has a rather pleasent personality, which genterates a comfortable interior, and rich atmosphere. He runs multiple SD-7 units within for all minor repairs. All major repairs are either performed by mechanical aid or by regeneration. The SD-7's within number 72 all together of various sizes, each resembling either a caterpillar or a millipede depending on their main function. Hel'ra himself can be considered an insect when being classified. As he grows, he sheds outer layers of skin varying in length, thickness and width and can be easily mistaken for a ship itself. Born from large eggs, found floating in the void or attached to asteroids, Sicero ships take a long time to hatch and grow. The largest Sicero ever recorded was measured at two miles long and 24 tiers high at her death after 600 years in use.

Sicero ships are very rare in the universe as we know it, and are highly prized for their capabilities. As most take on pilots for their lifespan, militaries desiring power, should they capture one, will keep the pilot sedated for easier control. Unfortunately, when you sedate the pilot, you sedate the ship, and therefore most of it's usefulness is lost. Sicero are easily augmented, taking on weapons quickly, though most of them dislike the idea entirely. Only a Sicero controlled by a military will ever have weapons installed. Sadly, for the sicero, even if it is released or escapes, the weapons are stuck to them for life, an unwanted piercing, or a brand if you will. Sicero are very wild creatures, prone to wander deep space freely, like great whales. They are curious by nature, and love to soak in the various rays of light produced by most stars, especially infra-red and ultraviolet. Recent studies have shown that Sicero actually gain nutrition from these rays and can thus sustain themselves for long periods of time, leaping from star to star. It was originally believed that the ships were self-sustaining, but heads are turning to the other direction with this find.

Recently, Pilot has begun to allow the crew to refer to her as 'Ylia'. All 72 SD-7's and the ship itself refer to her by this name, giving the notion that this is in fact her birth name.

Yet now, even stranger, Ylia has begun to reveal her tale piece by piece; filling in the blanks left behind by their refusal to talk of the past. They say that it was the Vong who did this to them. The conqueror beasts who now lay waste to the galaxy had long ago found Ylia's small world and taken her captive, forcing the data plug into her head and tearing Hel'ra asunder within to implant her and turn them into a warship. Sedated and obedient for many untold years, there are gaps in their memory that may never be filled. It was by a miracle that they escaped, the sedative wore off too early as immunity began to set in. With a blast from implanted railguns, they were free and running for their very lives. Now they have come to hide, terrified of the Vong that follow behind, knowing that it is not them the creatures chase. If there was a way to help this innocent galaxy she would do it. But they are only one ship and have been alone too long...

"But I'm not broken, in my dream I win
In here I'm nothing, a Cosmic Castaway..."

♫ About the Typist ♫

I'm willing to take part in any adventure of your choosing. I'll play any campaign that requires space travel, be it pirate ship, prison transport or cruise ship. Anything really.

One thing I've been met with since joining is people finding it hard to build a sci-fi character. I've been doing this for eight years and have no problems helping you build one. Just because the roleplay is in space doesn't mean you can't have magic or be a demon, angel or whatever have you. I'm also an avid tabletop player and can even roll stats for you if you so desire. Despite my character's stationary position, there are still a great number of things you can do onboard Hel'ra ( Pronounced Hell-er-ah(uh) ).  Secrets run rampant in the ships interior and there's no limit to what you can discover inside and outside the ship. And when you want to make planetfall, you don't have to leave Pilot behind, she has her ways of going with you.

You want to go explore an alien planet? Let's go! I'm right there with you every step of the way. Dm-ing is one of my favorite things to do and I have a thousand plots and storylines running about in my head. Who's up for hot alien space chicks and giant robots? I am so there.

I'm up for PM but I prefer room play because every ship is more fun with a crew. All crew members will recieve a personal comm unit. All ships positions are open. Required:  gunners and a medical officer. We will consider any other positions offered.

Definately looking for a continual storyline roleplay. Hence the search for a crew.

One thing I must say is that I'm here to play. Romance is all well and good, and I'm up for it if you wish to try. But honestly, I'm just here to play. I adore action-adventure, especially if its the scifi-fantasy mix.

If you want to join me, feel free to pm me a scenario to begin, we can work it out till we're both pleased and jump right in. However, I must ask for at least an attempt at proper punctuation.

Hope to see you aboard soon!

Hey, If I'm not here, feel free to YIM me at: biohazard.revolution

Note: I have just recently been subjected to the horrors of Farscape. Hate it. This character was not inspired by it. Leave me alone about it.
