A note about her planet Endolo and culture

Realm Jumpers travel between realms suppressing oppressive rulers and restoring balance.  No one is really sure when or why this particular practice was started, but the generosity of the realms they help keep their planet going.  The Seers rule the planet with surety and swift disciple for their abilities lie in looking into the future.  Among their many responsibilities, they keep track of all of their jumpers and progress they make in each mission and upon completion, and assign them new missions.  Most Jumpers are assigned a predetermined number of missions at birth, usually between 47-87.  Each Jumper has a specific uniform: healers wear green tunic and basic black trousers with boots and fighters wear all black.  Each is given a pack with various items to help them in each mission which contains: paper, writing utilities, jumping serum, towels, and an array of various currencies depending on the realm.  Healers are equipped with an array of herbs and various medicines which they have prepared based on the ingredients available.

Fighting ability is prized among all else and this can cause great despair to the parents of realm jumping children who lack in this arena.  In recent years, there has been a dramatic influx of healer realm jumpers born as opposed to those gifted with fighting abilities.  Realm Jumpers travel in pairs for safety as well as to combine their unique abilities, and it only made sense to pair a healer with a fighter after the recent influx of healers born on the planet. Fighting partners when paired with healers often live longer and complete more missions, however, are known to be very cruel to their lesser healers which are considered second class citizens.

Her Story

Akira(Intelligent), or as she prefers, Aiko(Love Child), is a well travelled realm jumper.  When Aiko was born she had the misfortune of having 102 assigned missions, of which she has completed 40.  Her body is already badly battered and scarred from previous missions, thus, her Seer does not have hope that she will be able to complete all of her assignments.  The stress her body faces due to the number of missions assigned is surpassed only by her 'lack' of abilities she was born with as her abilities lie with healing and plants.  This shortcoming caused great despair for her parents and at 13 (many jumpers are trained at 18) they abandoned her to the realm jumper program with all of the other flunkie jumpers, having no faith she would survive her first mission. In an unusual turn of events Aki has been through many jumping partners and survived the most brutal attacks in these mission; this happened so often, pieces of her arm are missing.

One of the only reasons she is still standing and able to carry on is because of her older brother, Oris.  Between missions when Akira returns home he has pulled every possible favor in order to ensure her health and well being.  During some of her missions he broke a number of rules prohibiting other fighters from interfering when they have been assigned their own task to complete.  Because of his fierce dedication and love for his younger sister, he considers himself more of her father figure to her and this was reaffirmed by the growing respect Akira bestowed upon him.  He filled the void which should not have existed for her parents never showed her any compassion or care through out her childhood and are responsible for some of the worst scars which decorate her slender figure.

Personality

Akira is a fiercely dedicated healer who would never willing leave her fighting companion in battle, even at the cost of her own life.  The main reason for being so loyal to her less than caring companions is the metaphysical connection which is made between a healer and a fighter on her planet, letting her know exactly where and how hurt the fighter is at any one moment.  This link between the two could also be seen as incentive to keep the fighter alive, for as soon as the connection is severed it sends the healer into excruciating pain for about 24 hours.  Akira has done this so often as she has suffered through nine companions, it is becoming more and more difficult for her to bond herself to anyone, but cannot fight the  inherent drive to connect herself to one.

Harsh experiences have taught her a few lessons which she regularly abides by if  possible:  Never show all of your cards even to someone you trust, never make the first move, and never tell anyone of your abilities.  A majority of her fighting companions did not know all that she could offer them because she chose not to share certain pieces of information, but saved them all the same.  If you were to go back in time and ask each companion about her, they would unanimously agree she is ignorant and clumsy on her best days.  However, it became necessary for her to put this facade up in order to properly treat each companion, their egos often too big of a hassle, and wanted to feel like the more superior among the two.

One reaction which many have found most amusing at the expense of Akira’s comfort is the ease at which she blushes.  Having spent so much of her time dedicated to becoming a faster, more effective healer, she knows little to nothing of the opposite sex.  Most innuendoes and even a causal brush against her clothing will provoke the bight cherry red color to overwhelm her pale face.  Laughable as it might be for some, this will only anger her and most will lose any chance of befriending the healer.

Items

Cloak - An enchanted cloak with the sole purpose of protection in a few scenarios.  It can take a small amount of blunt force which minimizes bodily harm.  Another feature is it can act like a chameleon by blending into the background when necessary, but otherwise is dark green.

Pack - A rather plain looking muslin cloth that resists fraying and is slung across her right shoulder. The flap which hangs over the front carried the emblem of the people of Endolo.

Notebook - One of Akira's most prized possessions as this frayed and old parchment paper book holds all of her original remedy recipes.  She will often refer to it out of habit rather than as a reference tool.

Pen - The only special feature about this pen is the ink never runs out and the ink takes longer to fade than average.

Abilities

Healing - Aki is very adept at healing through a variety of means.  She can create salves, herbal teas, or tinctures for almost any illness, identify most plants which aid in healing and their usage, and of course her in born abilities to heal.  Through her own essence she has the ability to mend wounds that are physical, metaphysical, and emotional.  Though she will not heal another's emotional turmoil often, she can wipe away the memory from them and take it into her mind.

Plants - The plants respond to her and a drop of her own blood can bring a dead plant back to full bloom.  This is one of many reasons her nickname gifted by her Seer is Lifebringer.  Trees move their branches and vines follow her around in almost every scenario.  She uses the this to her advantage to aid her when in a confrontation, and will even have her vines grow thorns if necessary.  Aki will never strike first, only defend herself in a given situation, and only as a last resort.

An unusual trait that she possesses in relation to plants is to hear 'The Song of Sorrow.'  Many plants on a number of planets which harbor higher functioning beings will speak to her and tell her of their pain and struggle through this song.  It does not change or cease if the plants on a planet feel that they are dying off and beg her help.  Often times all she can do is give them a quick burst of her energy but wishes more than ever to let people hear the beautiful tragedy all around them.  If she becomes close enough to a person she can help them hear this song in hopes it changes them for the better.  In hopes that the very life many depend on for food and shelter are not entirely forgotten.

Fighting abilities - Some amount of basic defense skill.  She has picked up some hand to hand fighting while on her missions as well as the basics of holding a sword, though she does not own one herself.

'Jumping' - The ability to jump through space. An ability almost everyone on her planet possesses except for the weakest among them.  The portal is formed from their own energy creating a mirror like field which can be stepped through to the desired destination.  For Akira, this is quite taxing.

Weaknesses

Metals -  any contact to her skin which is forged metal, or being confined to a large metal room will significantly weaken her if not render her abilities useless.  Anything with forged iron will burn her flesh, pure iron will be excruciatingly painful.

Technology - Same reason as above as most technological devices have some amount of metal inside.

Plastics - Another man-made substance which has the potential to significantly weaken her depending on the amount and proximity.

If I don't respond immediately or take a few minutes between posts, it means

real life happened.  Please be patient.

I am ok with a variety of settings and times, but I have my creative boundaries as do most of us.  I will adjust my post length to the situation, so the more information you give me, the more I can return.  I  prefer one-on-one RP opposed to group, and am very PM friendly as long as you show common courtesy and respect.
