...Benevolent. Corrupt. Compassionate. Clueless. Insightful. Neglectful. Understanding. Soft. All-Knowing. Selfish...

 

The best and worst has been said of Equestria's esteemed ruler, from many different ponies of many different ages and times, and even in present-day Equestria, the list grows. But regardless of praise-spreaders and neigh-sayers alike, there is one unarguable truth: no matter how things may appear, she always has what's best for her subjects and dearest friends in mind when she acts.

Always calm and collected, Celestia is certainly the more generous leader of the two, valuing kindness and friendship above all else, and there is very little she wouldn't go out of her way to do if she suspected it would aid a situation. Her endless love and dedication to her subjects throughout countless ages, combined with her seemingly limitless magical presence, has earned her even the title of Goddess to some--though, in Celestia's own eyes, she is no different than any other pony. She is simply Celestia, and desires little special treatment due to her rank and title unless necessary.

Many things have been praised and critiqued of Celestia, but one thing holds true. In Celestia's own words...

 

"So long as the Sun burns in the sky, I will give everything I am and then some to protect this land and all its creatures."
